Recommend-A-Friend
Your first few months at ALU are all about settling in, learning the ropes, and showing us the amazing potential you bring to the team. That’s why we have a probation period — a structured time designed to help you succeed in your role and feel fully supported as you integrate into the ALU community.
Length of Probation
Your probation period will last between 3 to 6 months, depending on your contract type. The exact duration is shared in your employment contract. During this time, your manager (and sometimes your teammates) will work closely with you to support your growth and help you succeed.
Setting Clear Goals
As part of the team onboarding, your manager will share clear expectations and goals. These are designed to help you focus on what matters most in your new role.
If you have not received your team onboarding pack within the first week of starting please contact the pxd@alueducation.com
Regular Check-ins & Feedback
You won’t be doing this alone! Your manager will provide regular feedback and guidance throughout your probation. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions, reflect on your progress, and share how you’re feeling.
Mid-Probation Review
Around the halfway mark, you’ll have a more formal check-in. This is a great opportunity to celebrate your progress and discuss anything that needs more attention or support.
Final Probation Review
At the end of your probation, you and your manager will sit down for a final review. Together, you'll look at your journey so far and decide on next steps — including confirmation into your role if all goes well.
Employee Responsibilities
Review and understand the probation objectives outlined in the "Team Onboarding Guide."
Actively participate in monthly Dev 1:1 conversations and seek feedback.
Strive to meet or exceed performance expectations.
Demonstrate a commitment to learning, growth, and adapting to the company culture.
This period is really about helping you thrive — not just evaluating performance. We want to make sure this is the right role and environment for you, too
